Youth Leading the Way: UOB’s Wonder Lab at GCNT Expo 2025
Alongside high-level discussions, UOB Thailand is investing in future leaders through its new initiative, Wonder Lab: Youth for a Greener Tomorrow. The programme empowers youth aged 15–25 to reimagine sustainability in daily life. More than 450 applicants from 102 teams took part, with 10 finalist teams presenting their projects at True Digital Park during the Expo.
Participants pitched solutions ranging from eco-conscious pet food to waste-to-resource platforms, judged on innovation, feasibility, and social impact. Teams collaborate to develop their concepts into viable projects, supported by mentors who guide and refine their plans. After the workshop, each team has a month to put their ideas into action, turning learning into tangible impact.
The event also featured a Green Inspiration Talk with UOB Painting of the Year winning artist Pratchaya Charernsook and influencer KongGreenGreen, who champion sustainability through art and storytelling.
“Wonder Lab is about equipping youth with the mindset and tools to lead,” said Dhornratana Olanhankij, UOB Thailand’s Country Function Head of Brand, Media, and Communications.
“With purpose-driven youth, a net-zero future is within reach. We were truly impressed to see over 450 students from across the country step forward with bold and thoughtful solutions. Today’s 10 finalist teams are taking the next step, turning inspiration into action. For us, this is not just about funding, it is about believing in and empowering young people to act now. Sustainability is not a distant goal; it begins with what we empower them to do today.”
As Thailand advances its green transition, the path ahead demands collective courage, innovation, and systemic reform. From policymakers and financial institutions to youth and civil society, GCNT Expo 2025 underscores that sustainable finance is no longer a niche, it is a necessity.Bottom of Form
